Light snow is possible tonight, mostly east of the Kansas City metro area

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Good morning and happy Sunday! It’s a cold start to the day with temperatures in the low 20s. With temperatures this low be aware of any re-freezes that occur overnight as roads and bridges may be patchy. This trend toward cold mornings will continue through Tuesday before warming up a bit.

Snow is possible in central Missouri this afternoon into the evening, with some areas getting 1-2 inches, but most areas will see less than our far eastern counties. It will be a light flurry of snow overnight that will go away by 7am tomorrow morning. If you travel or live east of Kansas City, take it slow on Monday morning as roads may be slippery.

Some areas won’t even get above freezing Monday afternoon with a high of 29 in Kansas City. Tuesday morning will be the coldest morning we’ve seen, with lows in the mid-teens and what feels like temperatures in the low-teens into the single digits. Be sure to have a big coat handy! High pressure sets in Tuesday afternoon, bringing highs 10 degrees above Tuesday and even warmer conditions to the area by Wednesday. This warming is short-lived with cold air in the forecast for Thursday.
