New footage shows aftermath of school bus crash in Portage County that leaves 6 injured

DIAMOND, Ohio (WOIO) – New body camera footage shows the aftermath of a Portage County school bus crash that left six people injured.

Two students and a school bus driver were taken to hospital on Friday, November 22, after they veered off the road to avoid an accident.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP), the pickup truck was traveling southeast on Scott Corners Road just after 7 a.m. when it went left of center.

The school bus was traveling northwest on the same road.

In order to avoid a collision, the bus driver drove off the side of the road into the yard, reports the OSHP.

At the time of the accident, there were 29 students in the bus, the OSHP reported.

Two students with minor injuries were taken to the hospital. The bus driver was also taken for examination.

Four other students also received minor injuries.

The pickup did not stop at the scene of the accident.

The accident is under investigation, and the driver of the other vehicle is being sought.
