Immigration authorities on Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) has detected a major visa scam through a According to a News18 report, a fake visa worth 1 lakh was involved which led to the arrest of several participants.

Caught in a lie

Kanwaljit was unable to provide sufficient answers to the officer’s questions and was detailed for further investigation, which revealed fake visa plan. They discovered that Arora had pasted a fake Greek visa in Kanwaljit’s passport 1 lakh and rerouted the trip through Thailand in an attempt to cheat the authorities.

Kanwaljit produced a fake visa to board his plane and that’s when he was caught. He confessed to the conspiracy and was arrested by the IGI Airport Police under several sections of IPC and Passport Act. A similar case was also registered against Arora under sections 318(4), 336(3) and 340(2).

Arora was traced to his hometown and confessed to the racket during interrogation. According to him, the scheme has been operating for many years.

Delhi Police has busted a fake visa syndicate

Earlier on October 24, the IGIA police also said they had busted a fake visa syndicate and arrested According to a PTI report, the accused has been identified as Pratik Shah, 35, from Surat in Gujarat.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (IGI Airport) Usha Ragnani said they initially arrested five gang members — Gaurav (28), Nitin Sharma (33), Sarabjeet Kaur (29), Gagandeep Kaur (32) and Reena Kaushal (42) and came to know about Shah during the investigation.

On September 28, Kuldeep (21) arrived at the IGIA in Delhi and during verification, it was found that a fake Canadian visa was attached to his passport. An FIR has been registered and an investigation has been initiated, she said.

The police seized 14 fake visa stickers in the names of different people, 9 rubber stamps of different countries, 16 dyes of countries such as CanadaSerbia, Azerbaijan, Macedonia and Bosnia, among others, 80 blank chips for PR cards, one large printer, a plastic sealing machine, rubber eraser sheets with holograms of Serbia, Bosnia, Azerbaijan, Great Britain and Macedonia, two laptops, five basic mobile phones phones, 18 originals of passports and various office supplies,” the message reads.
