The man accused of aggressive actions of American Airlines faces 20 years

According to reports, Abdul-al-Jabbar Oloruntoba Olaiya takes part in an argument with a flight attendant aboard American Airlines Flight 1915 from Milwaukee to Dallas on November 19. Olaya allegedly told the flight attendant that he was the “captain of this flight” and demanded to exit the Airbus A319, which had originally descended at DFW Metropolex. Olaya then allegedly rushed to the door and punched the flight attendant. At that moment, several passengers restrained Olaya, tied his hands and feet with tape.

Passengers reportedly held Olaya on the floor throughout the landing, a total of about 30 minutes. The flight landed as planned at DFW, which is one of American’s hubs (American is headquartered in Fort Worth).

The FBI removed Olaya from the plane and the Federal Aviation Administration began an investigation. On Tuesday, Olaya was arrested and charged with interfering with an aircraft crew by assault or intimidation. If found guilty, Olaya faces up to 20 years in prison.

There is an incident in the air about two months after another uncontrolled situation with passengers on the same flight. American flight AA1733, which was flying the same route from Milwaukee to Dallas on September 3, was diverted to Tulsa, Oklahoma, when a passenger caught vaping got into an argument with a flight attendant. According to some reports, the passenger became aggressive. Despite this, vaping is prohibited on flights. The passenger was removed from the flight in Tulsa.
