The first look at the restored Notre Dame Cathedral after the devastating fire

French authorities got their first look at the restored Notre Dame Cathedral in footage released on November 29, five years after destroyed by a major fire in 2019.

In April 2019, a fire broke out inside the attic of the cathedral. Until the moment of its extinction the wooden spire collapsedmost of the wooden roof and upper walls were badly damaged.

The cause has not been determined, but authorities believe the fire may have been caused by a cigarette or an electrical problem.

Five years after the fire, French President Emmanuel Macron toured cathedral live on television, giving the public a detailed overview of the work inside the building.
