Rangers accuse the French police of creating danger for fans

The club said: “Despite this considerable effort, our fans have been badly let down by the draconian security operation imposed by the local authorities, which was poorly organized and executed.

“This operation was changed several times without prior warning to ranger personnel on the ground.

“The heavy-handed tactics used by the local police were also unjustified and caused serious distress to many of our supporters.”

He added that the message given to Rangers in advance was incorrect and that fans affected by the events should contact the club.

Rangers moved up to eighth in the Europa League table after the win, which saw goals from Vaclav Cerny, Mohamed Diomande and a brace from Hamza Igamane.
