According to San Diego Police Officer J. Peralesa, an accident occurred at 6:51 p.m. Thursday in the 10000 block of Aviary Drive.

An 83-year-old woman was driving a 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 northbound on Scripps Ranch Boulevard when she turned north onto southbound Aviary Drive and collided head-on with a 2014 Nissan Maxima driven by a 50-year-old driver. man, Perales said.

The injured male passenger was taken by ambulance to the hospital for medical treatment, the officer said.

According to Perales, alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
