Identical twins are playing each other in an NFL game this weekend

Fans can see a double play this football Sunday.

Identical twins Sydney Brown, Philadelphia Eagles safety, and Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Chase Brown collided on the field Sunday, October 27th. The 24-year-old Canadian brothers were born just two minutes apart CBS Sports.

“I’m excited about it because it’s something we’ve been looking forward to since we were kids.” Sidney said the week before that, he played with Chase in NFL Week 8. “It’s surreal, but we expected it. We’ve been working on it and it will be cool to experience this moment with him on the pitch.”

Although the twins are very close, CBS Sports reported that they stopped speaking Tuesday before the game, ending communication. After the game everything will be as usual.

Their mom, Rachel Brown, is hoping for a tie. “That would be the best case scenario. That would make me happy. I didn’t know much about the NFL. I thought the only time they would play against each other was in the Super Bowl, and those odds are so slim.” she said.

“But every four years this case will become the biggest rivalry in our family,” Rachel added. “Whoever wins will brag for four years.”

This is not the first time it is identical twins went to the football field together.

In 2006, Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Rond Barber met his New York Giants twin Tiki Barber – even picked up his brother. After the game, Ronde, 49, said he was relieved their antics were over.

“I’m glad it’s over,” he said in October 2006 Tampa Bay Times. “Actually, I didn’t like it. It’s a nice side note, but I was ready for it to be over early in the game. For whatever reason, it’s just not the same … I’m playing against him, so thank God it’s over.”

He also recalled how his twin kept things peaceful while on the field. “Tiki doesn’t talk,” Ronde said then. “Tiki kills you with kindness. He talks sweetly to you and runs around you.”
