KCPD is investigating possible damage after a vehicle collided with a police vehicle

KANSAS CITY, Missouri. Police in Kansas City, Missouri, are investigating possible damage after a Ford Fusion crashed into the back of a police car early Sunday morning.

Around 4:30 a.m., officers were called to southbound Highway 71 before Bannister Road for an injury collision involving two vehicles with KCPD tags, police said.

Investigators say officers were initially called to the scene during another collision.

Police found a wrecked black Dodge Charger that had been abandoned.

While waiting for a tow truck to arrive, a Ford Fusion crashed into the rear of a KCPD Ford Explorer.

As a result of the accident, the car crashed into the rear of the second Explorer.

A second police car then drove forward and crashed into the rear of the abandoned Charger.

KCPD said the officers suffered minor injuries and are “doing well.”

According to police, the driver of the Ford was seriously injured but is in stable condition.
