CCTV footage shows Kanpur woman at gym when she is killed by trainer

CCTV footage has emerged showing a woman at a gym in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, on the day she was killed by her gym trainer, after which her body was buried in the VVIP area.

The woman can be seen at the gym wearing a red T-shirt and black pants.

Her body was recovered from the Kanpur District Magistrate’s bungalow on Saturday, four months after she was allegedly murdered. Accused Vimal Soni, a trainer at a gym in Green Park area, admitted during police interrogation that he buried the body of the businessman’s wife in an area consisting of bungalows allotted to government officials. The woman went missing on June 24 and further investigation determined that she was dead.

NDTV has learned that the body has been found. The body was recovered from the part of the District Magistrate’s residence where the camp office is located. The bureaucrat lives with his family in another part of the residence. There is a guard post near the place.

The gym, where the accused worked and the woman attended, was located a kilometer away from the scene of the incident. The woman was a member there for 2.5 years.

DCP (Kanpur North) Shrawan Kumar Singh told reporters that the woman was allegedly upset over the completion of her husband’s wedding. On the day of the crime, she came to the gym 20 days later and they got into the car to talk. An argument ensued, during which he punched her in the neck, after which she passed out. Then he killed her.
