Liverpool’s road wardens will be fitted with cameras to capture offences

Traffic wardens across Liverpool will be fitted with body cameras to tackle violence they face on the job, the council has announced.

Liverpool City Council has revealed that civil enforcement officers (CEOs) who ticket motorists are often verbally and physically abused.

To combat the problem, the council has agreed to buy 75 wearable devices and £150,000 will be spent on the first tranche of devices.

Members of the public can also make allegations of abuse and threats by CEOs using video footage as evidence, the body said.
