Fortune Feimster Jokes About Mom Jealous Of Jax’s Wife (Exclusive)

Fortune Feimster becomes real about the unexpected side effect of loudly raving about his wife Jacqueline “Jax” Smith.

In PEOPLE’s exclusive first look at her upcoming Netflix special, Fortune Feimster: Crushing ItThe 44-year-old comedian hilariously recalls how her mother began to feel abandoned after she and Smith started dating.

“When I met Jax, something happened that I didn’t expect. My mom is a little jealous,” she begins as the audience erupts in laughter. “I remember if I bought Jax something like a scarf, my mom would say, ‘I like scarves.’ I say, “You’re not my girl.”

To make matters worse, the comedian reveals that her mother’s birthday is just five days after her wife’s birthday. In February, she jokes that she often has “palpitations” due to stress and excitement.

“I remember at the beginning of my relationship it was very popular to go on Facebook and confess your love to whoever you were with. So on Jax’s birthday, I go on Facebook (and) say, “I love you so much.” .You’re the best thing that ever happened to me,” she recalls, pretending to curse as she typed on the keyboard.

Posting a touching tribute consisting of “30 photos” and a “collage that took five hours to create,” Feimster recalls calling her mother on her birthday five days later.

When she received a tepid response, Feimster asked what she was packing for her big day.

“I’m on Facebook,” she recalls her mother quipping. “I checked my messages but I don’t see any from you and I know your thumbs are working because you used them five days ago.”

“I sent you an edible composition. What is it?” Feimster laughs before joking, “She was pissed, so I had to unfriend her!”

Crushing It is Feimster’s third Netflix special Luck (2022) and Sweet and salty (2020). In the new special, directed by Cristian Mercado Figueroa, the comedian shares how she navigates “relationships, personal growth and the fun of everyday life” by sharing personal stories.

“With her unique comedic perspective and infectious energy, Fortune invites audiences into her world of laughter and love,” reads the synopsis.

After meeting in 2015, Feimster and Smith became engaged in 2018 and married in 2020. They share their relationship on social media and have also talked about working together. (Smith served as an executive producer on Feimster’s comedy specials.)

However, mostly they write about how they spend time together and together their Pomeranian Biggie.

I want people to know that me and Jax are just like everyone else“, she told PEOPLE about their relationship while chatting about her 2022 Luck special “We happen to be gay, but our story is not much different from other people’s stories. I want the special to be something that everyone can relate to. You don’t have to be gay to relate to the engagement story.”

The The Mindy Project The star added: “A lot of men come up to me after the show and say, ‘Oh my God, that proposal was the most nerve-wracking thing ever.’ It’s nice to have a relationship with them in this matter.”
