Nyoroge, who once headed the Amani Peace and Welfare Organization, played a key role in reconciling victims of IDPs and mobilizing internally displaced persons (IDPs) for peace initiatives.

His efforts extended to the International Criminal Court (ICC) case against Ruto, where he worked behind the scenes to defend local mechanisms in international trials.

He used his personal resources to promote peace among the affected communities in the Rift Valley and Western Kenya.

Despite his sacrifices, Nyoroge’s life took a terrible turn.

Now he faces mounting debts accumulated during his peace-building efforts and fears losing his land.

“My long outstanding debt is Kshs 600,000. This debt was repaid as I mobilized Uasin Gisha and PEV victims of Kakamega County to talk to each other and decide on their position on the ICC. Simplification – transport, airtime, food, rent of premises, etc., “he claimed.

His health has deteriorated under the pressure and he is eager to explain his contributions to President Ruto in the hope of getting relief.

“If I could meet the president, I would ask for help to pay off my debt and support the education or employment of my two sons,” he said, adding that his involvement in victim mobilization has left him financially drained.

Njoroge, who has been nominated several times Kakamega District for Mashujaa’s award as a fighter for peace, it was never recognized which made him question his sacrifices and contribution to the nation.

“My efforts to build peace and lead IDPs left me in debt and poverty,” he complained in an interview with the publication TUKO.co.ke.

Nyoroge remains hopeful that his plea will reach the president and help him rebuild his life after years of selfless service.
