James Gunn has unveiled a bronze statue of a peacemaker that will make DC collectors jealous

Bringing great characters to the screen has some great benefits. Telling stories to fans around the world is not only creatively satisfying, but also gives you great opportunities as a collector. Just ask James Gunn! The new creative force behind DC Studios has brought John Cena’s ‘Peacemaker’ to life in his acclaimed 2021 film Suicide Squadbefore spinning the character off into his own solo Max series. Between these two projects, Cena’s take on the anti-hero has become one of the most popular characters in DC’s recent screen history, and that popularity led to a phenomenal statue from the folks at Sideshow.

Hann recently went to social networks to share a look at the new Peacemaker statue that Sideshow sent him, and it’s a real beauty. The only problem, as Gunn points out in his post, is that this statue is one of only two of its kind in existence, meaning none of us will be able to get our hands on one.

The statue depicts Cena the Peacemaker riding the Needle into battle, throwing up a “rock na” sign with his free hand (reminiscent of the killer rock ‘n’ roll soundtrack that Gunn put together in Peacemaker Season 1). Instead of full color, this Peacemaker statue is all bronze, which makes it even cooler — and more expensive.

Gunn notes in his post that the statue is one of two created by Sideshow, though he doesn’t say who owns the other. Maybe it’s somewhere in the Sideshow offices. Then again, it wouldn’t be surprising to find out that it was sent to John Cena.

The second season Peacemaker is on the way, and this time it will take place under the auspices of DC Studios and the new DCU. While many recent live-action iterations of DC characters are being retooled for a fresh start in this new franchise, the cast Peacemaker is transported into this connected universe. Cena will reprise his role in the DCU alongside Danielle Brooks (Adebayo), Freddy Stroma (Vigilante), Jennifer Holland (Emilia Harcourt) and Steve Agee (John Economos). More Peacemaker and Suicide Squad holdovers may be making an appearance in the DCU, but it’s unclear who exactly will be joining the franchise.

Nor do we know exactly when Peacemaker Season 2 will be released on Max. It will arrive sometime in 2025, but fans shouldn’t expect it to arrive before the second half of the year. Events of the show keep up with what’s happening at Gunn’s Superman filmwhich will hit theaters on July 11, 2025. Given that schedule, Gunn said that Peacemaker will debut in a while Superman.
