An 11-year-old Chester boy has died after being hit by a car outside his school

An 11-year-old boy has died days after he was hit by a car near his school, police said.

The boy was involved in a collision with a gray Nissan Qashqai outside Kings School on Wrexham Road in Chester at around 17:15 GMT on Tuesday.

He was treated at the scene before being taken to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital where he died on Saturday morning. Cheshire Police said his family was being supported by special officers.

The driver of the Nissan Qashqai, a 28-year-old woman from Wrexham, was uninjured and no arrests were made, police added.

Sergeant Russell Syme said: “We understand this was a sad incident and our thoughts are with the victim’s family at this difficult time.”

He appealed to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have any information about it or the recording of the call or video recorder to contact the police.
