10 Crore Lawsuit, Open Letter on Netflix Documentary

Rs 10 crore lawsuit, open letter: What's behind the Nayanthar-Dhanush row

Nayanthara slammed Dhanush for his legal notice against her Netflix documentary.

An all-out war broke out between south film superstars Nayanthara and Dhanush over a three-second clip in a Netflix documentary. While Dhanush demanded Rs 10 crore in damages for allegedly using footage from a film he produced, Nayanthara responded with a scathing three-page open letter and said she was “shocked” that he was demanding such a huge amount for “just three seconds”. ” of clips allegedly shot on “personal devices”.

10 million rupees worth of legal information

Dhanush sent a legal notice of Rs 10 crore to the producers of the project after the trailer of the actor’s upcoming documentary Jaawan – Nayantara: Beyond the fairy tale – was published online last week. The documentary allegedly contains footage from the 2015 Tamil film Naanum Rowdy Dhan. Nayanthara starred opposite Vijay Sethupathi in the film, which was produced by Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films. The romantic comedy was written and directed by Nayanthara’s husband and director Vignesh Shivan.

Nayantarain a letter posted on her Instagram page, claimed that the documentary team was waiting for Dhanush’s approval to release, but “ultimately decided to give up and settle for the current version” after he “refused” to allow “the use of Rowdy Dhaan’s ‘Naanum’ or visual abbreviations despite numerous requests.”

“Extraordinary Minimum”

She also mentioned that many “industry well-wishers” contributed to the Netflix documentary “about me, my life, my love and marriage.”

“Unfortunately, it does not include the most special and important film, Naanum Rowdy Dhaan,” said Nayanthara.

Dhanush has not yet replied to her letter.

The 39-year-old actor did not mince words, criticizing Dhanush for her “all-time low” and said she would give a “proper” response to the reports through legal means.

“We were shocked to read the lines in which you questioned the use of some videos (just three seconds) that were shot on our personal devices, as well as BTS visuals that are already widely featured on social media, and claimed the amount of 10 crores of rupees as losses in just three seconds,” she said.

“This is a record low for you and says a lot about your character. I wish you were half the person you appear to be on stage during audio launches in front of your innocent fans, but it’s obvious you don’t practice what you preach, at least not with me and my partner,” the actor added.

Nayanthara claimed that Dhanush said “horrible things” about the film, which was released almost 10 years ago, and that he continues to behave “despicably, in a mask in front of the world”.

“I learned from film circles that your ego was extremely bruised after the film became a blockbuster. Your displeasure with its success was felt even by common people because of the awards associated with this film (Filmfare 2016),” she said.

Urging Dhanush to watch the documentary, Nayanthara said, “It’s important to #SpreadLove and I hope and pray that one day you can do it too, not just say it.”

Film director Shivan also supported his wife by sharing

Dhanush’s old Instagram video where the actor talked about positivity and the importance of living a hate-free life.

The video, taken from the audio premiere of the 2017 film Sakka Podu Podu Raja, shows Dhanush saying in Tamil, “The love we feel for one should not turn into hatred for the other. If that changes, that emotion won’t lose its meaning .. Nobody likes it, if somebody does good somebody, celebrate with them, if you don’t like somebody, just move on.”

The premiere of the documentary is scheduled for November 18.
