The Bombay High Court has allowed the resumption of flower offerings at the Shirdi Saibaba Temple

During the hearing of the case, lawyer Anil S. Bajaj, representing the Sansthan, claimed that the decision to resume flower donation was taken after careful consideration of issues raised by all stakeholders, including flower farmers and devotees.

He emphasized that the flowers will be purchased from the credit cooperative of temple workers and sold at reasonable prices on the territory of the temple.

Bajaj also explained that although he had no plan to dispose of the waste, the Sansthan had previously entered into agreements with a self-help group to dispose of flowers by processing them and turning them into incense sticks (agarbattis). According to him, this can now also be monitored.
