Equinox discloses data breach related to health information of customers, staff and ET HealthWorld

Bengaluru: Equinox, a consulting and healthcare services company, on Friday disclosed a data leak related to the personal health information of some current and former clients and staff and notified those who may have been affected.

On April 29, the company discovered unusual activity on its system, and after an independent judicial investigation, it learned that “an unauthorized entity accessed and potentially obtained certain files stored on its internal systems.”

The information that may have been compromised depends on the individual, but could include names, social security numbers, financial account information, and medication-related information, among others.

“Equinox has implemented additional security features to help prevent similar incidents in the future,” the company said. (Reporting by Tanay Dhumal in Bengaluru; Editing by Mohammed Safi Shamsi)
