  1. Select the Manage Account option.
  2. Click on Account Information.
  3. Go to Security.
  4. Look for 2-step verification.
  5. Choose the method of receiving the authentication code: through an SMS message or an authentication program.
  6. Enter your cell phone number with area code if you selected text message. You should receive a code via SMS. Enter the code in the console.
  7. If you chose authenticator appopen the desired application and follow the instructions to scan the QR code on the screen. Then enter the code that you will see on the console screen.

How to activate two-factor authentication on PS5

The process for enabling two-factor authentication on the PS5 is very similar to the process on the PS4. Check:

  • On your PS5’s home screen, look for the Settings button, represented by a gear icon in the upper right corner.
  • Go to Users and Accounts.
  • In the left side menu, stay logged in. Then go to Security in the menu on the right.
  • Look for 2-step verification.
  • Choose how you want to receive the authentication code: by SMS message or through the authentication program.

Turn off two-factor authentication

It’s very easy to turn off two-factor authentication (2FA) on your PlayStation Network (PSN) account. Below are the steps for PS4 and PS5.

This is the easiest and fastest way as it works for PS4 and PS5.

  • Go to Manage your PlayStation Network account page: (PlayStation Account Management)(https://www.playstation.com/account/).
  • Sign in to your account using your email address and password.

    4. Scroll down to Two-Stage Verification (2SV) and select it.
    5. Click on Decontaminate to disable 2FA.
    6. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

On the PS4 console

  • Go to Settings.

  • Select 2-step verification.
  • Select Deactivate and confirm your choice.

On the PS5 console

1. Go to Settings.
2. Select Users and Accounts > Account > Security.
3. Choose 2-step verification.
4. Click Decontaminate and follow the instructions.

  • You will need access to your phone number or the authentication program used for 2FA.
  • After deactivating 2FA, you will no longer need to enter a verification code when logging in.
