Northumbria Police footage shows a teenager from Washington running from police

Video shows police chasing a teenager at 100mph after he was given a suspended sentence for dangerous driving.

Shane Urwin, 18, of Washington, drove on the wrong side of the road, ignored a red light and plowed through roadworks in the Tyne Tunnel to escape from officers on August 20.

Vehicles, including large trucks, had to swerve as he drove towards them.

He was sentenced to a year in prison, suspended for two years, with 200 hours of unpaid work.
