Conor McGregor has come under fire for an incredibly insensitive tweet that has now been deleted.

Paul beaten Tyson by unanimous decision in a very low-scoring fight.

Aside from a good opening round in which Tyson landed a couple of nice left hooks, “Iron Mike” looked like a shadow of his former self in the ring.

It was to be expected, given that he recently celebrated his 58th birthday and his opponent is in his prime at 27, but it was a sad sight.

Double weight UFC Champion McGregor was among millions of people who stayed up until the early hours of Saturday morning to watch the fight on Netflix.

And somehow he created something even more controversial than the fight itself in the form of a tasteless tweet.

“They are looking at Pritchard Colon as the next opponent,” McGregor wrote before quickly deleting his post.

Prichard Colon is a former super welterweight boxer who has been in a vegetative state since suffering a life-changing brain hemorrhage in his 2015 fight with Terrell Williams.

Williams repeatedly hit Colon with illegal punches to the back of the head throughout the fight before the fight was stopped in the ninth round.

Kolon had to be helped in the locker room, where he later passed out.

He was then rushed to hospital by ambulance and was in a coma for 221 days after undergoing emergency brain surgery.

Since then, Colon has remained in a persistent vegetative state and is unable to speak due to his injuries.

McGregor’s tweet was completely unnecessary and caused a lot of backlash on social media.

One fan wrote: “What a scumbag.”

Another added: “This is crazy, this guy needs to be disciplined.”

A third tweeted: “This Conor is no joke.”

A fourth posted: “No, that’s a cheeky tweet. Crossed the line.”

At the same time, someone else remarked: “This is hell. I know Conor can be a hell of a person sometimes, but it’s just such a stupid thing for him to say. Some people just don’t give a damn.”
