Snow has closed the North Cascades Highway in western Washington

SEATTLE – Transport authorities called for closure North Cascades Highway for the weekend through snow forecasts

WSDOT announced Friday morning that the highway will be closed at 5 p.m. and will remain closed until at least Monday, Nov. 18. The reopening will depend on the findings of their avalanche and technical teams in a few days.

Temporary closures will be in place from 134-171 of State Highway 20 in southeastern Whatcom County, northern Chelan County and western Okanogan County.
