Torrence, suspected of killing 16-year-old boy in Long Beach, arrested in Las Vegas – Daily Breeze

A Las Vegas suspect has been arrested in the gang-related killing of a 16-year-old boy, Bell, in Long Beach, authorities said.

The fatal shooting happened Aug. 4 in the 3300 block of 67th Street, according to the Long Beach Police Department. Officers responded to the scene around 2:40 p.m. that day following multiple reports of shots fired in the street and found a teenager with multiple gunshot wounds to his body.

The boy died at the scene.

Police said he was dropped off in a car by a male relative, got out of the car and returned a short time later, accompanied by “a group of unknown persons”.

A few minutes later, there was a shooting, hitting the boy and a relative’s car. The relative fled the scene and immediately called the police. The relative, who received a minor upper body injury, was treated at the scene. The group fled the area on foot before officers arrived.

Detectives later identified 41-year-old Torrance resident Ronald Guidry as the suspect. They obtained a warrant for Guidry’s arrest and he was arrested on October 17 by the Las Vegas Police Department.

“Subsequently, search warrants were executed in Las Vegas, Moreno Valley, Rialto and Perris, where evidence was located and seized,” Long Beach police said in a statement. Police said the shooting was gang-related.

Long Beach police are urging anyone with information about the homicide to call them at 562-570-7244. Tipsters who wish to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 or visit lacrimestoppers.org.
