Woman charged with reckless homicide after leaving scene of fatal crash in Mountain Brook

MOUNTAIN BROOK, Alabama (WBRC) – One woman has been arrested on multiple charges following a fatal crash that occurred Oct. 12 in Mountain Brook.

On Saturday, Oct. 12, at 1:30 p.m., Mountain Brook Police said they responded to a hit-and-run accident in the 3900 block of Montclair Road. When they arrived, MBP found a single vehicle accident in which the driver of the vehicle, Robert Ashley May, 33, had been ejected. May died a short time later at UAB Hospital.

Authorities initially believed it was a single-vehicle crash, but after interviewing witnesses at the scene, it was discovered that a second vehicle was involved in the crash and left the scene before officers arrived.

Later, the law enforcement officers determined that the car that left the scene of the accident was traveling at a high speed and caused reckless driving, which caused the accident.

After working to identify the driver and the second vehicle, MBP issued arrest warrants and charged Hannah Gray Williams, 30, with reckless homicide and leaving the scene of an injury accident.
