Rodney Usher, whose previous work includes Radiant-obsessed room 237, uses Matrix as a point of contact for this (widespread?) syndrome, and interviews his subjects virtually using game avatars. A classic showbiz romance updated for today (or 2014, but it’s close enough), with Gugu Mbatha-Rau as a star-studded R&B/pop sensation and Nate Parker as a stealth bodyguard/future politician who first saves her life and then steals her heart. It’s glossy soap opera at its best, with an extended sequence in a coastal nook that might make you pause and head to Travelocity. One of the best romantic movies to watch on Hulu.

Old Canadian indie Matt Johnsoncreator of amazing mock documentaries Dirty people, Operation “Avalanche”. and Nirvana The Band The Showfollows the rise and fall of the once ubiquitous tech gadget of the title in this hilarious comedy. Jay Baruchel particularly impressive as a brilliant and creative inventor torn between his desire for perfection and Glen Howerton‘s increasingly ancient pursuit of money. Research shows that there is a lot of fiction here, but essence the IPO bubble remains sincere.
