2 teenagers accused of numerous car break-ins were arrested

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – Officials with the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) say they have arrested two teenagers for trying to break into several cars and running from police Thursday night.

Deputies responded to the 6900 block of Northwest 4th Boulevard in west Gainesville after reports of vehicle break-ins.

Surveillance video from a nearby Big Daddy Health Products business shows Clark, 18, from Georgia, trying to break into the car.

The video also shows 19-year-old Zeke Dupree from Alabama giving her a ride in a white Jeep Cherokee.

When deputies located a vehicle matching the description of the white Jeep, they attempted to pull it over.

The two left the vehicle and fled into the Pine Meadows area.

Deputies were able to catch Clark and take her into custody, but Dupree continued to run and was later found in a nearby reservoir.

Authorities found an abandoned Jeep in the 7300 block of West University Avenue.

Both Dupree and Clark are currently in the Alachua County Jail facing multiple felony charges.

Clark is on $7,000 bond and faces five counts of third-degree felony and one count of second-degree felony.

Dupree’s bond is set at $72,000 on the five third-degree felony charges, as well as fleeing and attempting to escape.
