Teenagers released after Gul’s husband’s death ruled accidental

A 17-year-old arrested on suspicion of murder has been released after the man’s death was ruled accidental, police said.

The 42-year-old died in hospital on October 21, the day after he was found with head injuries at a home on Hook Road in Goole.

An autopsy determined that the cause of death was a head injury sustained as a result of falling down the stairs in his home.

The teenager and a 15-year-old, who was also arrested in connection with the incident, were released without further action.

Humberside Police Department’s Jim Clough said: “We can now confirm that a third party was not involved in the man’s death and his injuries have been determined to be related to a fall down the stairs at his home.”

He added that the family is being held by trained officers.
