If you have recently used mobile banking the Cash App platform to make payments or receive money, you may find yourself in a queue to receive payment through a settlement of a collective action.

But you only have a few days to check if you’re eligible. Here’s how to find out.

You will need to provide your contact information along with your $Cashtag ID.

You can also print and mail the claim, but it must be postmarked by November 19.

How much will I get from the Cash App settlement?

Cash App users who transacted between August 23, 2018 and August 20, 2024 and submitted an accepted claim can receive several thousand dollars in estimated payment.

“Settlement class members who submit a valid and timely claim form are entitled to recover up to $2,500 per settlement class member for out-of-pocket losses,” the settlement details. “(For example) those that are fairly traceable to a data security incidentan unauthorized account event or failure to resolve errors in connection with a Cash App or Cash App Investing account.”

The agreement also provides for separate payments of up to $75 for lost time.

If you want to claim compensation for losses due to a transaction, you will need to provide either a police report, a report of previous contact with a Cash App account representative, or documentation that you previously notified Cash App of the problem.

The Cash App settlement resolves claims by the federal government that Cash App was negligent in its handling of two data breach incidents and allowed unauthorized or otherwise fraudulent transfers.
