Road accident in Dehradun: Students walking, driving a BMW, decapitated in a high-speed accident

A recently released video shows that the group college students involved in a fatal car accident in Dehradun in Uttarakhand earlier this week was partying and drinking right before crashing into a truck. According to police, CCTV footage from the location shows the students racing the BMW in their car and driving at excessive speeds.

As a result of the accident that happened on Tuesday morning, six students were killed and another was seriously injured. The force of the impact was so great that some of the car’s occupants were reportedly decapitated, and the vehicle was left in ruins.

A video taken earlier that evening, obtained by India Today, shows a group of young men and women swaying to music, pouring drinks and consuming what appear to be alcoholic drinks from glasses.

The footage has raised questions about whether alcohol played a role in the collision. Police have not yet confirmed whether the students were under the influence of alcohol, as autopsy reports are still pending.

CRASH KILLER DEHRADUN

The accident took place around 1:30 am on Tuesday at ONGC Chowk in Dehradun when the students’ car rammed into a truck from behind, turning the vehicle into a mangled wreck. All six passengers died on the spot, while the seventh, 25-year-old Siddhesh Agrawal, was taken to Synergy Hospital with serious injuries.

Authorities identified the dead as Kunal Kukreja, 23; Atul Agrawal, 24; Rishabh Jain, 24; Navya Goel, 23; Kamakshi, 20; and Gunit, 19. Kukreja was from Himachal Pradesh while the others were residents of Dehradun. Law enforcement officers have not yet established which institution the students attended.

The investigation is ongoing, and the police are studying CCTV footage to determine the cause of the accident. While officials have not confirmed whether the driver was under the influence of alcohol, the video has fueled speculation.

Meanwhile, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed deep grief over the death of the youths and condoled with the bereaved families.
