Driver sentenced in deadly Edgewood UTV crash

EDGEWOOD, Iowa (KCRG) – Hannah Meese has been sentenced to 10 years in prison following a fatal UTV crash in May 2021.

The Iowa State Patrol says Meese was driving on Woods Edge Drive when she lost control at a curve in the road.

The passenger in the UTV was 32-year-old Jordan Kabalka, who died at the scene. The Miz was also injured.

She was initially charged with vehicular homicide while driving under the influence.

Court documents show that her blood alcohol content is twice the legal limit.

Her trial was set to begin in September, but Miz took a plea deal and pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide.

Along with the prison term, Miz must also pay a fine and restitution to the victims.
