Staveley: Seven sheep killed by 4×4 driving across field

Seven sheep have died after the animals were “deliberately” run over by what is believed to be a four-wheel drive vehicle.

North Yorkshire Police said the dead sheep was discovered at around 10am GMT on Wednesday in a field on the outskirts of Staveley, near Knorrsborough.

Police said the car “deliberately drove over the perimeter fence and into the animals” overnight, killing seven and leaving the rest of the pack “in distress”.

Anyone with any information about the incident or who may have CCTV or dash cam footage in the area is asked to contact police.
