“We received a distress call at 2:15 a.m. and immediately arrived at the scene.

“Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead on arrival at a specialist hospital in Gombe.”

According to a statement from the State Police Public Relations Officer, Buhari Abdullahi, the stabbing happened around 1:35am on October 21, 2024, Vanguard reports.

Musa suffered severe chest injuries that eventually led to her tragic death.

Abdullahi gave further details on the police response, confirming the immediate arrest of the suspect at the scene of the crime, reports The Punch.

“The suspect, Jonathan James, was arrested at the scene and the knife used in the crime was recovered as evidence,” he said.

He emphasized the seriousness with which the police treat this case.

“The police are taking this case very seriously and the suspect will appear in court soon to be charged. We condemn this heinous act and ensure that the perpetrator will be brought to justice to the full extent,” Abdullahi added.
