A murder-suicide is under investigation at Manatawny Manor Nursing Home

Chester County, Pennsylvania. On Wednesday, the East Coventry Police Department, along with Chester County detectives, responded to a murder-suicide at the Manatown Nursing Home. Authorities responded after a 9-1-1 call reported a shooting at the facility.

Arriving at the scene, law enforcement officers found a deceased 89-year-old woman and a 90-year-old man with a severe gunshot wound to the head. A firearm was found at the scene. The injured man, identified as the dead woman’s husband, was taken to Reading Hospital but did not survive.

There were no reports of other victims, except for the two people involved. Authorities confirm that there is currently no threat to the public or those living in the nursing home.
