Hum Aapke Hain Koun:

The 1994 superhit blockbuster starring Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit is considered one of the best festival films ever made. The appearance of the character’s son named Pooja takes place during the Diwali holiday. All the family members come together to celebrate the day with the song Dhiktana Dhiktana vocalized by SP Balasubrahmanyam.

Chachi 420:

Kamal Haasan played the lead role in the film, which was released in 1997. An important scene in the film shows Haasan’s character saving Bharti, portrayed by Fatima Sana Sheikh, from Diwali crackers. The cast also includes Tabu, Amrish Puri and Om Puri.

Vaastav:

Released in 1999, the film starred Sanjay Dutt, Namrata Shirodkar, Monish Bahl, Shivaji Satam and Reema Lagu. The scene where Sanjay Raghu’s character meets his family is set against the backdrop of Diwali celebrations. The film is directed and written by Mahesh Manjrekar.

This film directed by Aditi Chopra is considered to be one of the most successful films of Bollywood, beautifully portraying a tragic love story. The cast included names like Shahrukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Uday Chopra, Jimmy Shergill and Jugal Hansraj. The song Pairon Mein Bandhan Hai is shot in the backdrop of Diwali.
