Andhra Pradesh HC stays FIR against Allu Arjun for alleged violation of election code
The Andhra Pradesh High Court has temporarily stayed the proceedings against Allu Arjun, accused of violating the election code by allegedly gathering a crowd in Nandyal without prior permission. Arjun’s lawyer argued that the gathering was personal and not political and sought dismissal of the complaint. This legal reprieve lasts until November 6. Meanwhile, the actor is gearing up for Pushpa 2: The Rule, which will release on December 5, 2024.

The Andhra Pradesh High Court temporarily suspended all proceedings in the case FIR filed against “Pushpa‘star Allu Arjun for allegedly violating the model code of conduct during the last general election. This decision was announced on October 25, 2024, and the court is due to issue its final ruling on November 6.
The matter arose after Allu Arjun visited Nandyal to support his former friend YSRCP MLA Silpa Ravi Chandra Kishore Reddy. Deputy tahsildar Nandyal filed a complaint alleging that Allu Arjun’s visit had attracted a large crowd without prior permission from the returning officer, a violation of election rules. The complaint alleged that such gatherings could disrupt the election process.
In court, Allu Arjuna’s lawyer Y. Nagi Reddy claimed that the actor’s visit was purely personal and not related to any political campaign. He added that Allu Arjun should not be held responsible for the mob that formed outside Kishore Reddy’s residence as the gathering was not organized for election purposes. Reddy also argued that the complaint lacked merit and should be dismissed. The assistant prosecutor noted that the indictment in this case has already been filed. VRC Judge Krupa Sagar questioned whether the quashing petition can be decided at this stage of the case. Reddy assured the court that the trial court was yet to understand the prosecution and asked that all proceedings on the basis of the FIR should be stopped immediately.
Allu Arjun has now been granted temporary relief from the threat of legal action stemming from his visit, with the court adjourned until November 6. This incident led to rumors about his relationship with his family and on a political platform like his uncle Pawan Kalyan competed on the opposite side.
On the professional front, Allu Arjun is gearing up for the release of Pushpa 2: The Rule, which is set to release on December 5, 2024. The film continues Pushpa Raj’s story and features returning actors Fahadh Faasil and Rashmika Mandanna. .
