The night strike of a Russian drone shook the Ukrainian capital: a child died, 6 others were injured

On Friday evening, a Russian drone crashed into a high-rise building in the Solomyansk district of Kyiv, killing a child and injuring six others.

Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko announced this on social media at 9:20 p.m an explosion was recorded in the district, where he later added that a fire broke out on the spot and floors 17-19 were damaged in the attack.

He later added that more than 100 residents had been evacuated as emergency workers tried to contain the fire. Klitschko’s last message at 11:57 p.m. states that a girl born in 2009 died as a result of the attack.

“The apartments from the 17th to the 21st floor were damaged in the building in the Solomyansky district. The fire was extinguished. A girl born in 2009 died,” the report said advertisement.

Latest update as of 07:32Serhiy Popko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, said that six more people were injured as a result of the attack.

“As a result of the shelling of Kyiv by Russian (UAVs) in the Solomyansk district, one person died, six people were injured, one of them was hospitalized. The others were given medical assistance on the spot,” the message reads.
