A Vietnamese father learned the truth about his daughter after he realized she didn’t look like either of his parents, the South China Morning Post reported.

A DNA test later confirmed that he was not her biological father. This sets him on a journey to uncover the hospital mix-up as the truth is revealed when his daughter meets another girl at a new school who was born on the same day.

When his daughter Lan became a teenager and became more beautiful, he noticed that she did not look like him or his wife at all. The speculation led him to take a DNA test, which confirmed that Lan was not his biological daughter.

The exposure of the trials caused him to become cold towards his wife and daughter. He often came home drunk.

According to the SCMP, one night after he got drunk, he confronted his wife about the DNA results and accused her of infidelity. However, Hong rejected the accusations and moved with her daughter to the capital, Hanoi. This forced Lan to change schools, where an unexpected discovery revealed the truth.

At a birthday party, Lan’s mother noticed a striking resemblance to herself, suspecting a mistake at the hospital. DNA tests confirmed that Lan and her friend were switched at birth. Now the families regularly spend time together and plan to reveal the truth to the girls, while the legal action remains uncertain.
