All suspects, three of whom are minors, were detained.

According to the accused, two boys, Jitender and Nitish, were harassing a friend’s sister “every day”, so they decided to teach them. On Friday, a fight broke out between them, in which one of them received a serious head injury, the police said.

Mahender and three others beat Jitender and Nitish and fled from the spot. According to them, Nitish was admitted by his mother to Bhagwan Mahavir Hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

Based on the statement of Nitish’s mother, a case of murder has been registered at Subhash Place and an investigation has been initiated, Deputy Commissioner of Police Abhishek Daniya said.

The police started checking the CCTV footage installed around the scene of the incident. According to him, they have also started technical surveillance, informers have been engaged and intelligence has also been collected from local sources.

A trap was then laid and after a short chase, Mahender and the three minors were nabbed in Shakurpur, the DCP said.

After prolonged interrogation, they confessed their involvement in the murder and said that Jitender wanted to befriend a girl from Shakurpur and that he had been stalking her daily, another officer said. The girl was the sister of a friend of the accused.

On November 8, the four accused threatened Jeetender with dire consequences if he continued to approach the girl. “At the same time, a fight broke out between them, and Nitish received a serious wound in the head, from which he died,” he said.

The officer said further efforts are being made to check if they are involved in any other case.
