Homicide detectives are investigating two shooting deaths

DAYTON, OH (WDTN) — Police are investigating the shooting deaths of two people on Thursday.

According to Montgomery County Regional Dispatch, officers were dispatched to a shooting just before 1:00 p.m. on Nov. 7. The shooting reportedly happened in the 1600 block of Russett Avenue in East Dayton.

The 911 caller reported hearing someone running and seeing a person shot.

Upon arrival, the Dayton Police Department said officers found two people suffering from gunshot wounds. They were both pronounced dead at the scene, and the Montgomery County Coroner was called around 2:30 p.m.

2 NEWS saw a large police presence arriving at the scene. Crime scene tape set up a perimeter while homicide detectives investigated.

All persons from the scene have been searched. Police say they are not looking for any suspects or witnesses at this time.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
