As a Wallflowers fan since high school, I can’t wait for it. I interviewed Jacob Dylan this week—he was insightful, intelligent, and just plain funny. Calling all fans: The Providence Bruins are hosting Marvel Superhero Weekend at The AMP. ThamesGiving in Newport aims to bring that festive buzz to the brick-and-mortar shops of Newport city center for a month-long celebration starting on November 8. Shop, dine and view holiday window displays as nearly 80 participating stores, hotels, restaurants and public spaces offer special offers and extended hours.

This year’s theme, Sott’Acqua: A Tale of Two Underwater Cities, is climate change. According to the festival’s website, we can expect an event that will focus on Providence and Florence, Italy, and floods in both cities.

LITTLE JUGS HAVE BIG EARS

According to the website, the 120th annual exhibition and sale of small paintings opens Nov. 10 with a public reception from noon to 5 p.m. The sale is the oldest of its kind in the United States.

The 2024 exhibition features approximately 700 original works of art 16 x 16 inches or smaller priced at $350 or less, spread across three galleries. About 120 local artists are represented. Valid until December 22. Details here.

A collaboration we didn’t know we needed. Head to Pawtucket’s Guild Brewery for Pints ​​with a Purpose on November 13th from 5:30-8:30pm. Providence Public Libraries will have their own beer, The Dewey Decimator (love it), in their taproom until November 27th. for every beer sold, the libraries receive $2, according to the accounts.
