An assault on a minor complaint leads to an arrest

LONDON, Ky. (WYMT) – A man has been arrested after a Laurel County Sheriff’s Office detective accompanied social services on a report of a juvenile being assaulted.

Roderick Oliver Collins, 51, of London, was charged following the incident.

During the investigation, a sheriff’s office detective determined that Collins had punched the juvenile in the face, leaving a laceration above her right eye. Collins was also found to have placed the minor at risk of possible serious injury or death by allowing an unsecured weapon in her vicinity.

Collins is charged with 4th degree assault and 1st degree wanton endangerment.

He was taken to the Laurel County Correctional Center.
