Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is asking the Supreme Court to help him help Trump

Welcome back, Deadline: Law Bulletin readers. The Supreme Court did not hold hearings this week, but rejected Michael Cohen’s application for injunctive relief for retaliation during Donald Trump presidency. Meanwhile, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. wants justice to remove him from swing state ballots as he seeks to help Trump, who said he will fire special counsel Jack Smith “within two seconds” if he wins on Election Day — now 11 days away.

Cohen’s appeal was dismissed along with a bunch of others in the Monday routine list of orders. That means Trump and his potential civil co-defendants won’t face a lawsuit against Cohen over his imprisonment in response oppose the then president. as Trump signals second term full of revenge, justices accept appeal despite academics and former federal officials warning that blocking Cohen’s lawsuit “sends a clear signal to federal actors that government critics can be punished without consequence for exercising their constitutional rights.”

Rights RFK Jr is the subject of it emergency appeal to get off the ballot in Wisconsin. A former independent candidate who suspended his campaign and endorsed Trump tells judges it’s unfair to keep him in office (even though he just asked them, to no availto get on the New York ballot). We can learn next week whether the high court wreaks havoc on a battleground race in an early voting state already started.

Trump is running to avoid going to jail. That reality was reinforced this week when the Republican presidential candidate told radio host Hugh Hewitt that he can quickly the special prosecutor who is prosecuting him in two of his federal cases. The election meddling and classified documents cases are still ongoing, with the former back on the docket court of first instance and appealing the dismissal of the latter from Smith. But soon the defendant may gain the power to make them both disappear.

The judge who dropped the case documentsEileen Cannon, may be in line for a big promotion. This is reported by ABC News appointed by Trump who released The Trump case (which sparked Smith’s appeal) could be our next attorney general. In addition to underscoring the stakes for Trump’s second term, the news raised expectations motion for recusal from the alleged assassination attempt on Trump assassin Ryan Wesley Routh. Seeking to prevent a Trump-friendly lawyer from hearing his case, Raut’s lawyers wrote this“if Mr. Trump were to become president again, he would have the power to elevate your honor to a federal appeals court (including the US Supreme Court) or to high executive positions.”

Cannon’s stimulus can also increase the possibility downloading it from the Trump documents case. But first, we need to see how the federal appeals court rules Smith’s bet restore it and whether the Supreme Court considers it and how. That is, if the case still exists by the time it gets to that point. And again, everything boils down to the upcoming elections.
