Santa Monica police are looking for Good Samaritans who got tired of helping a woman who was beaten up on the beach

The authorities are asking the public to help find the good Samaritans who tried to free the victim who was hit by a careless driver near the street. Santa Monica Pier.

October 17., a woman who was believed to be homeless was lying on the sand when an SUV ran over her and killed her.

Officers from the Santa Monica Police Department who were patrolling the area were alerted to a “vehicle stuck in the sand” and upon arrival found the woman unconscious under the vehicle.

The Santa Monica Fire Department said the woman died at the scene. With the help of the resources of the DMFR, the vehicle was raised and the victim was pulled out.

The suspect, 21-year-old Yuyang Sun, was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving, reckless driving and gross involuntary manslaughter.

Several individuals “who heroically attempted to extricate the victim’s body from under the vehicle stuck in the sand” are being sought by SMPD, the department said.

They left before police arrived and may have information that could help the investigation.

“We encourage these Good Samaritans to speak with department investigators as they may have valuable information that may assist in determining the totality of circumstances that led to this incident,” SMPD said in a release. “Your information, no matter how small it may seem, can be critical to our efforts.”
