Monroe County Cherohala Skyway homicide victim identified

MONROE COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — A victim in Monroe County, Cherohala Skyway Murder was identified.

Stephen Douglas Lloyd

This was reported by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO). outputthe victim is Stephen Douglas Lloyd of Knoxville, Tennessee.

Lloyd’s family has been located and notified.

MCSO said while speaking with the family, they learned that Lloyd was adopted.

Lloyd also suffered from trust issues and was diagnosed with reactive attachment disorder.

It is known that he lived on the street, but maintained contact with his family.

It was also revealed that Stephen loved being outside.

MCSO reported a suspect, Nicholas Wayne Hamlett, who befriended Stephen and lured him into the woods.

Hamlet then killed Lloyd on the evening of October 18, 2024.

Hamlet is still at large and the authorities are working to arrest him.
