Teen found shot in NW Harris Co. after witnesses heard gunshots and a car speeding away

HOUSTON – Authorities are investigating what led to the death of a teenager Sunday night in the Northwest Harris County after witnesses reported hearing gunshots but seeing only a car speeding away from the scene.

It happened around 9:30 p.m., when deputies were called to the Evolve Champions Apartments at the Jester Boulevard shopping center for a shooting.

When they arrived, investigators said they found an unidentified 17-year-old boy dead from multiple gunshot wounds. Some witnesses outside told police they heard gunshots but were not around to see what happened.

However, they saw a vehicle fleeing the scene and later reported finding the teenager before calling 911.

There is no motive or information on the shooter at this time, but deputies are looking into what happened as part of their investigation.
