Oliphant man pleads guilty to child molestation – Scranton Times-Tribune

SCRANTON. On Oct. 3, an Olyphant man accused of indecently touching a 10-year-old girl earlier this year pleaded guilty to lewdness.

Kyle Tullio, 23, inappropriately touched a girl outside the Eureka Hose Company #4 Fire and Rescue Station in Olyphant on Jan. 26.

Tullio was an Oliphant firefighter and EMS responder at the time of the incident.

The investigation began on January 30, when the girl participated in a forensic interview at the Children’s Advocacy Center of Northeastern Pennsylvania.

The girl told investigators that Tullio used his stomach to pin her against a wall near the fire station. He also poked her in the butt and called her “pookie”, which made her uncomfortable.

Tullio offered the girl money to test her blood sugar with a device kept at the ambulance association, but she refused to let him test her and did not take the money.

The girl told investigators that Tullio complimented her body and lifted her shirt, touching her underneath.

Surveillance video from the emergency room showed Tullio and the girl in the garage and living room of the building, and also captured some inappropriate touching, police said.

During an interview on February 1, Tullio said the girl was “rude” and admitted he may have accidentally touched her breasts.

He told investigators he knew the girl was 10 years old.

Tullio is out on $25,000 bond pending sentencing.
