Man ‘trapped’ in car seriously injured after it crashes into guardrail – police appeal for driver

The 24-year-old passenger was treated for trauma by ambulance crews who arrived at the scene on Kingsbury Road in Erdington at 4.46 am on Sunday (November 3).

An ambulance spokeswoman said: “Upon arrival at the scene, crews found a male passenger trapped in the vehicle in critical condition.

“The EMS team worked quickly with fellow firefighters to quickly extricate him from the car, providing trauma care.

“The man was stabilized at the scene before being taken by blue light ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham for further trauma care. No other persons were found at the scene.”

On Sunday West Midlands Police issued an appeal calling two people who left the scene accident, probably the driver of the vehicle and the second passenger to report.

Police said the collision happened at the junction of Chester Road and Kingsbury Road and appealed for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage or information to get in touch.
