The Kerala government is investigating the controversial Hindu IAS WhatsApp group

The Kerala government has decided to check the controversial Hindu IAS WhatsApp group following a complaint by an IAS officer who said his number was used to create the group. The government, stressing that it violated the general code of conduct for IAS officers, said it would look into the matter and take appropriate action.

Minister of State for Industries P Rajiv said the government was investigating the controversial group following a complaint by another government employee, identified as K Gopalakrishnan, who said his personal WhatsApp number was hacked to create the group. Rajiv described the incident as serious and said that the rift in the community was a cause of great concern.

“The government will look into the matter. There is a general code of conduct for IAS officers, which comes under the civil administration. We are now studying the situation. Let’s look into it and decide what needs to be done,” he told reporters.

The petitioner, K. Gopalakrishnan, filed a complaint with the Thiruvananthapuram City Police Commissioner requesting an inquiry into the matter. According to a source close to the officer, several officers were added to the group, which was then labeled as a Hindu community group.

Noticing this, the officer immediately filed a report and dispersed the group. In his complaint, he stated that he did not add any officers to this group. The incident took place three days ago, sources said.

The groups that were formed under Gopalakrishnan’s number have names such as ‘Hindu Mallu Officers’ and ‘Mallu Muslim Officers’, which has sparked controversy. The officer said he only found out after being tipped off by a friend.

The officer said several groups were created from his contact information without his knowledge. Without his knowledge, officers from his contact list were also added to the groups.
