Mahindra will launch the production-ready BE.05 and XUV.e9 SUVs on November 26, 2024 in Chennai. The production electric SUVs will be called the BE 6e and XEV 9e respectively, and as the spy shots have revealed, both of these INGLO-platform models are expected to have radical designs, just like the concepts they’re based on.

  1. Mahindra BE 6e likely to get 60kWh and 79kWh batteries
  2. Rear-wheel and all-wheel drive versions of the BE 6e are expected
  3. The Mahindra XEV 9e is likely to be offered only in rear-wheel drive form

Mahindra BE 6e competes with Tata Curvv EV, Hyundai Creta EV

BE 6e will stand higher XUV400 from Mahindra electric SUV and will go up against electric SUVs like Tata Curvv EV, Hyundai Creta EV and Maruti’s eVX. As for dimensions, the concept was 4370mm long, 1900mm wide, 1635mm tall and had a wheelbase of 2775mm. The production BE 6e is likely to be the same size, which means it will be as big as the born Maruti EV, the eVX.

As we reported earlier when we had exclusive BE 6e spy shotsMahindra is aiming for a radical styling of the e-SUV to attract customers who want a sharp look on the road and plenty of technology. The spy shots also showed an interior that looks very similar to the concept shown back in 2022 – you can see a dual screen and a unique three-dimensional element that stretches from the instrument panel to the center console.

The Mahindra BE 6e is expected to be available in rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive variants and will have two battery options – a smaller 60 kWh and a larger 79 kWh. The latter is expected to be able to travel 450 km on a single charge, and both versions will be equipped with ultra-fast charging capabilities.

The Mahindra XEV 9e is likely to go up against the Tata Harrier EV

Based on what we had seen XEV 9e beforeMahindra hopes to attract executives who want the space, comfort and practicality of an SUV in a stylish package with this all-electric SUV coupe. The XEV 9e is likely to be offered only in rear-wheel drive form, and will share the battery pack and powertrain with the BE 6e. The main feature of the cabin will be a three-screen display, which includes a special screen for the front passenger. Other elements in the cabin are expected to be shared from the XUV700 which is currently on sale. While the XEV e9 will have no direct competition at launch, the Harrier EV is expected to be offered at a similar price point.

More details about Mahindra’s first models in the BE and XEV range will be revealed in the coming days. Stay connected.
