The commander of the Revolutionary Guards confirmed a new operation against Israel

A senior Iranian commander has repeatedly threatened a new military strike against Israel, but refrained from giving details, the Tasnim news agency reported on Sunday.

The publication, believed by many to be linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, reported that Ali Fadavi told reporters in Tehran on Sunday that a new operation would definitely happen. “It is impossible to comment on its details,” he added.

The announcement followed similar warnings by Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Saturday.

Iran and Israel have been escalating hostilities since April, when Iran first directly attacked Israel using more than 300 drones and missiles.

This was preceded by an attack attributed to Israel on the building of the Iranian embassy in the Syrian capital of Damascus, during which two Iranian generals were killed. The leadership of Iran regarded it as an attack on the territory of Iran.
